Blexr has given a donation of 5,000 euros to the Action for Breast Cancer Foundation in Malta, which supports patients who are dealing with the disease.
We visited the charity’s office in Mosta to meet the charity’s chairperson, Esther Sant, to formally hand over the donation.
We worked with the Foundation during Pink October last year. The charity lobbies for better service and treatment for breast cancer patients in Malta. It also provides equipment, psychological and emotional support to both the men and women affected, as well as their families.
Tonia Symington, Blexr’s chief people officer said: “We believe it’s important to support the Action for Breast Cancer foundation as it’s run entirely by volunteers and delivers an immense service and support mechanism to the community.
“As a company in Malta, we want to give something back to the community in a valuable way.
“Blexr is filled with people who truly care, about each other and our society. We’re determined to harness our power to make a difference to the communities in which we live and work.”
Support for charities
Esther Sant, chairperson of Action for Breast Cancer Foundation, said: “We would like to thank Blexr for this kind donation that we really, really appreciate.
“The funding will help us immensely in our own assistance that we give to people dealing with breast cancer. We help them through education, advice on prevention and assisting those going through their own breast cancer journey.”
Caring for others is one of our main values as Blexrians, and we’ve made a promise to support a charity each year, helping them to make their communities stronger, healthier and happier.
Last year we supported the Tennis for All Uganda foundation in Kampala, Africa. We sent school supplies and children’s clothes to Africa, along with a donation.
Marta, one of our big-hearted Blexrians, lead the collection drive and also volunteered two weeks of her leave to help the impoverished children staying at the orphanage.
We hope that through our efforts, we can make the communities in which these charities are based #betterwithblexr
